When it comes to museums in Amsterdam, there is no shortage! And while you really should visit the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Rembrandt House, don’t overlook Moco Amsterdam. This museum is small but has some great examples of modern, contemporary, and street art.
What Makes Moco Museum in Amsterdam is Worth Visiting
From the building to the alternating exhibitions, this museum has features that are unique and enjoyable to all types of art enthusiasts!
Location
Moco Amsterdam is located between the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum which makes it so easy to get to. In fact, you can easily do all three museums in just one day because of its location.
The building itself is a work of art. It was designed in 1904 by Eduard Cuypers, the nephew of the designer of Amsterdam Central Station and the Rijksmuseum.
Andy Warhol
American artist Andy Warhol, who came up with the idea of Pop Art, is featured in the Modern Masters exhibition.

This Japanese artist’s work centers around two of her main obsessions since childhood pumpkins and polka dots.
Banksy
Banksy is one of the most influential artists of our time.
If you’ve never heard of him, he is a street artist that has yet to be identified.
Despite this, his body of work that focuses on a satiric approach to political & social activism is easily identifiable because of his unique style.
It is amazing to be able to find so many of his works in one place!
Brian Donnelly (aka KAWS)
Another popular graffiti artist, KAWS, takes familiar cultural icons and delivers them in a new and fresh way.
Digital & Immersive Art
On the bottom floor of the Moco Amsterdam, guests will be able to find art that allows them to be part of the display.
This is by far one of the most Instagrammable spots in Amsterdam with rooms filled with immersive color and images.
The amount of quality contemporary art in MOCO is pretty amazing. I would suggest that if you are a fan of this type of art, you make sure that you get a ticket and secure an entrance time.
